Why good design matters
Good MVHR optimises the efficiency of the heat recovery, prevents noise, mechanical vibration and air turbulence problems and maximises energy efficiency of the MVHR unit.
Through our detailed design process, we can ensure that we’ve designed the quietest, most efficient system possible for your building. Any potential problems are solved at the design stage, avoiding costly and inconvenient alterations later on.
Our design service is qualitatively different to most other MVHR providers. As well as designing a system to physically fit in a building, we model the system in 3D software to check performance of the system in terms of noise, pressure, balance and airflow.

FAQs
What is your design process?
We will tailor the process to your project’s requirements, the first stage us usually a chat to understand these and then we will send you a quote breaking down the service we can offer you.
Next you will be assigned a designer who will work with you to understand the more detailed requirements on the designed system. This designer will then work with you to design a system layout that works with the constraints of your building while guaranteeing that the installed system will deliver.
Once you are happy with the finalised design we can work out everything needed to supply the system.
What makes you different from a free design service?
Some suppliers will offer a free or very cheap design service, however, this is not really a design service but more a way of them being able to work out lengths of ducts and number of components for a Bill of Materials. They will not model the system understand how it will perform and once they have supplied the components that’s their job done. They will also not consider special requirements around things like fire strategy and structural constraints.
Our design service works to understand the building, client, architect and contractor requirements to make sure what is supplied is a system that is practical to install and will perform as per the details in our produced design.
What types of system do you design?
Unlike others we are free to choose the most appropriate ducting system for your project. We have designed many projects in rigid steel duct, semi-rigid plastic duct or a hybrid system using both. Both types of system will perform well as long as they have been properly designed and installed.
The main pros and cons of each system are around how easy they are to install in a specific building as it will depend on joist depths, service voids, space near the Air Handling Unit etc. So this will be considered as part of the design process and we will make our recommendations.
What manufacturer do you use?
We are independent of any manufacture and so are free to consider the best, most appropriate components for your system.
